Master Class and Artist Mentoring Scheme: Man Lim-chung “The Invisible City —— on Cinematic Landmarks”
Cityscapes always reflect the era. By observing the city, Film art directors use spaces and locations to create the time-space to construct the cinematic world. Audiences, in return, strive to understand the city and feel its changes through moving images. “Jockey Club ifva Everywhere Master Class and Artist Mentoring Scheme” features Hong Kong veteran art director Mr Man Lim-chung to talk about the interrelationships among filmic space, city and moments in time.

Master Class and Artist Mentoring Scheme: “Behind the Illusional Reality – on Film Art Direction and Costume” Tina Liu
Why would audience be immersed into the filmic realm on cinema screens, and falsefully take that as the reality? After all, they are just looking at moving images that are not real, aren’t they? How do we define the ‘real’ and the ‘fantasy’ in cinema? Who should be the one to define? And in what grounds should we define? How can audiences be deceived? Ms Tina Liu, Hong Kong Film Arts Association Vice Chairman and a veteran on image design and costume direction, might have all the answers which she would share at this Master Class.

ifva Awards Open Category Gold Classic Online Showcase
"Jockey Club ifva Everywhere – People Cinema" free from the constraints of outdoor screening and will move to internet world this time. Two films of ifva Awards Open Category Gold Award Classic in two nights will be presented on YouTube LIVE, including Wong Sau-ping’s Glowing on 8 May, and Mak Hei-yan's Lovers' Lover on 9 May respectively. Both Wong and Mak are award winning local directors and we will be screening their works at their early stage! The directors will join our online sharing LIVE with guests respectively (8 May – Chan Hon-yan, The 25th ifva Award Open Category Gold Award Winner; 9 May – Lo Chun-yip (Siu yea), nominee of Best Supporting Actor of this year's Hong Kong Film Award). Let’s discover extraordinary cinematic experiences and the world of independent films at home together!

Jockey Club ifva Everywhere – People Cinema will present two films of Japanese director Yuya Ishii in two nights this October at the Rooftop Garden, D2 Place One in Lai Chi Kok, including The Tokyo Night Sky is Always the Densest Shade of Blue on 4 October, and The Great Passage on 5 October respectively. Have a Nice Day and ifva Awards Animation Category Awardees Showcase
Jockey Club ifva Everywhere – People Cinema will present a series of extraordinary animations in two nights this May at the Ocean Terminal Deck, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, including Have a Nice Day, the Best Animation Feature of the 54th Golden Horse Awards on 17 May, and a showcase of ifva Awards Animation Category winning titles on 18 May, respectively, continuing to bring alternative cinematic experiences to the audience this early summer!
