Submission must be via FilmFreeway.
Tertiary Students Group
a) Full-time students enrolled at the tertiary institutions mentioned below^ should contact to your school's representatives for submission method and free submission quotas.

b) Students from other tertiary institutions not included on the list should submit their entries through FilmFreeway.
*For submission via FilmFreeway, each Entrant needs to register for an account on the designated system. You only have to create ONE user account on FilmFreeway to add multiple entries. You can add more entries on “My Projects”. However, each entry submitted may only enter one group.
*To submit an Entry, the Entrant must click “Submit Now”, then “Add to Cart and Check Out”/ “Complete Order” on FilmFreeway. An Entry is not considered having entered the ifva Awards unless the Entrant has performed the aforementioned action.
*An Entry’s eligibility to enter the Awards is contingent upon the receipt by the Organiser or all required documents and materials specific herein on or before deadline. An Entrant shall bear the sole responsibility for any error occurred or omission in submitting the Entry.
SPECIFICATION
Each Entrant’s submission should be met:
- Resolution: 1920 x 1080
- Video codec: H.264
- Bitrate: 4000kbps
- Format: MOV or MP4
- Size: not exceeding 10GB
- Accept Vimeo link; or direct upload your video on designated system
- DO NOT accept DVD or USB submission
*Entrant can directly upload an Entry on FilmFreeway or provide Vimeo link to the system. For an Entrant who submits an Entry via Vimeo, the video link and password (if any) provided must remain valid from the date of submission until the date of announcement of finalists. An Entry will not be considered if the link or the password is invalid for any reason.
PRODUCTION & COMPLETION DATE
All entries MUST BE produced on or after 1 June 2024. Entries that have been submitted to previous ifva Awards will not be accepted.
SUBTITLES
All entries must at least include English subtitles.
DOCUMENTS
Regardless of whether the entry is selected for screening, all entries must provide:
Synopsis
English and/or Chinese synopsis of no more than 150 words.
Film stills
At least 3 film stills.
Identification document
- Open Group / Animation / Asian New Force / AI Creation Entrants* must upload a valid identification document with photo. (e.g. National ID card, passport).
- Youth Group Entrants* must upload a valid identification document (e.g. HKID card, passport, birth certificate) that provides proof of age and nationality. Student cards are not accepted.
- Tertiary Students Group Entrants* must upload a valid full time student card.
*In case there is more than one Entrant to an Entry, all Joint-Entrants should upload copies of their identification documents.
Method statement (for AI Creation Entrants only)
- AI Creation Entrants must upload a method statement that includes a list of AI tools used and a description of the generation process. If any part of the production process did not involve AI, this must be clearly indicated. Entrants must be able to provide a complete prompt history and working files when requested by the organiser.
