Artist's Statement

Nasnameyek Hêşîn (The Blue Identity) is a realistic film about the everyday lives of two refugees living in Berlin. The story is actually a real-life story which makes my film a docudrama. I didn’t really try to write a story but only wrote a script from the story my friend told me. Both of my characters and their dramas are real. I tried a new style of filmmaking by combining documentary and fiction together with the modern art values such as minimalism. In Nasnameyek Hêşîn, I tried to create a film which not only tells a story to the audience but also gives something deeper and makes the audience feel and think about it, too.
